Topic Description:

This presentation provides business owners and HR professionals with an overview of critical employee documentation practices. Participants will learn about the essential documents required throughout the employee lifecycle—from hiring to separation—and understand some of the legal, operational, and strategic importance of maintaining accurate records.

Speaker Information:

Brad deals with employment matters from the employer side, finding real world solutions to issues and helping employers proactively avoid many of the pitfalls in the employment law arena.

After earning his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2009, Brad spent the next two years in Europe working for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. During this time he was appointed to the Office of the President where he worked in support of the President of the ICTY on appellate matters as well the legacy project of the ICTY.

In 2013 Brad joined Employer’s Legal Advisor, Inc. in Ventura County, a law firm advising and representing employers. The firm provides “Practical Legal Solutions for HR Management” working with employers to assist them in dealing with the myriad of laws and regulations that affect the workplace. The firm conducts employment compliance reviews; answers day-to-day questions – including such questions as whether and how to terminate an employee and handling intricate matters relating to leaves of absence; works with HR representatives to draft and implement appropriate policies; conducts workplace investigations; and, when necessary, represents employers before government agencies and in other legal actions.
