Managing & Unlocking Performance In Your People

Topic Description:

The ability of people in our organizations to achieve high levels of performance begins with the approach of their managers.  Learning how to better manage, communicate with, remove barriers, and coach these team members is key to unlocking and sparking these higher levels of performance.

In this presentation, participants will learn how to set clear and specific performance goals for their team members and establish different types of metrics to gauge their performance.   Key principles for building strong employee relationships will be discussed, along with frameworks for how to provide effective critical and positive feedback.  Concepts on how to identify and help remove barriers in employee mindset and attitude will be shared.  Finally, principles and best practices for how to be a coaching leader vs. a directive leader will be shared as an especially important factor and approach to unlocking higher levels of employee performance, engagement, development, and retention.

The East Ventura County Employer Advisory Council (EAC) is composed of employer volunteers representing a cross-section of businesses and industries.  The EAC was developed to promote a stronger partnership between the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the business community.
