This presentation will cover recent developments in wage and hour matters, focusing on what employers are regularly doing that lands them in court. It will focus on what plaintiffs’ attorneys are expressly looking for in the wage and hour context and what employers can do now to fix things before a lawsuit is filed. After years of defending class action and PAGA cases, Sue has identified the red flags that employers often miss in their daily wage and hour practices. Attendees will learn what those mistakes are and the daily and pay period practical steps they can take now to establish and prove compliance.

Speaker Information:

Sue Bendavid is a Shareholder and Chair of the Employment Practice Group at Lewitt Hackman in Encino, California. For more than 30 years, she has dedicated her practice exclusively to representing employers in employment litigation, counseling, training, and employment law matters. Sue advises businesses across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, entertainment, professional service providers, educational institutions, manufacturers, and retailers, helping them navigate complex workplace issues and minimize legal risk.

Her work encompasses virtually every part of the employment relationship, from hiring and firing decisions to complex discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour compliance matters. Throughout her career, she has secured favorable rulings, dismissals, and litigation victories that have saved employers millions of dollars by resolving claims efficiently and preventing costly disputes. Sue has extensive experience successfully defending employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and appellate courts.
